Affiliate Disclosure

I believe you should know when I may benefit financially from something I recommend.

From time to time, I may recommend products or services that I have personally used or researched. Some of the links connected with those recommendations may be affiliate links. If you make a purchase through one of those links, I may receive a commission or other compensation.

When I use affiliate links, I will clearly disclose that relationship near the recommendation or links where it matters. I don’t expect you to find this page first just to figure out whether I may benefit from your purchase.

How I Choose What I Recommend

I don’t want a commission to decide what I say about a product.

When I recommend or compare something on The Empty Medication Bag, I want the recommendation to be based on my experience, my research, and whether I believe the information will actually be useful to you.

Some products I discuss may be products I’ve personally purchased and used. Others may be products I’ve researched and included because they offer a useful comparison or alternative. I’ll do my best to make that distinction clear so you know what my experience with a product actually is.

An affiliate relationship does not guarantee a positive review or recommendation. If I don’t like something, if I find a drawback, or if I think another option is better, I want to be able to tell you that.

How Affiliate Links Work

Some pages on The Empty Medication Bag may contain affiliate links. If you click one of these links and make a purchase, I may receive a commission or other compensation from the company or retailer.

You are never required to use one of my affiliate links. You’re always free to visit the retailer directly, shop somewhere else, or simply use the information I’ve provided to help you make your own decision.

How I Disclose Affiliate Relationships

I don’t expect you to visit this page every time you read something on The Empty Medication Bag.

When a page contains affiliate recommendations or links, I’ll include a clear disclosure near that content so you can see the relationship before deciding whether to click or make a purchase.

For example, a product comparison page will include a short disclosure above the comparison or before the first affiliate link. I want you to know when I may receive compensation while you’re considering the recommendation, not after you’ve already made your decision.

This Affiliate Disclosure provides more information about my overall approach, but it isn’t meant to replace disclosures where affiliate relationships actually appear.

Other Types of Compensation

Affiliate commissions aren’t the only type of relationship that may need to be disclosed.

If I receive a product for free, purchase it at a special discount, receive payment for sponsored content, or have another financial relationship that could affect how you view a recommendation, I’ll disclose that relationship clearly.

Receiving compensation or a free product does not guarantee a positive review. If I haven’t personally used a product, I won’t present it as though I have. I may still research or compare products I haven’t used, but I’ll make that distinction clear when it matters.

Your Responsibility When Choosing Products

The products and services I discuss on The Empty Medication Bag are shared for informational purposes and based on my personal experience, research, or both. What worked well for me may not be the right choice for you.

I encourage you to do your own research and consider your individual needs before purchasing or using a product. When a decision involves your health, medications, treatment, or medical care, talk with an appropriate healthcare professional before making changes based on something I’ve shared.
